WAAPA has an international reputation, attracting students from across Australia, New Zealand as well as from Asia and Europe. We welcome applicants from a wide variety of backgrounds including those from under-represented groups. Places are offered solely on the basis of individual potential and suitability to undertake the year long intensive programme and fulfill the academic requirements involved in completing a thesis. Auditions are held in Perth, Sydney and Melbourne or by video.
The Audition Process
Entry to LINK is through audition. Students may apply to enter the LINK program on the successful completion of their third year Bachelor of Arts (Dance) course, or an equivalent course. Once we receive your completed application and have processed your information you will be offered a place on the next available audition day. The audition process is designed to assess an applicant’s commitment, aptitude, potential as a dance artist and suitability for the course. Auditions are held in Perth, Sydney and Melbourne or by video. Students are encouraged to indicate their interest in this program following first semester of their third year. In addition to having at least a 70% course average, each student will be interviewed after a group audition. This will consist of a contemporary and ballet class followed by learning material from selected current reportoire. Auditioning dancers may also be asked to improvise.

Applicants should provide with their application and full academic transcripts from your previous dance programme a video/dvd containing: 1. 30mins of technique class ( both ballet and contemporary); 2. examples of past performance experience and 3. a 5min improvisation (a score of their liking)
